Gabriel is a young man who dreams of writing the first Indigenous science-fiction bestseller, whereas Corinne, who is of Jewish origin and 11 years older, teaches Indigenous literature at the university. That evening, some friends invited them both to dinner without even checking with them. The guests represent two completely opposing social clichés: the radical Indigenous activist guys that Gabriel hangs out with and the intellectual, environmentally-minded vegetarian friends of Corinne.
The menu for the evening includes moose meat and vegetarian lasagna, just like a satire of our irreconcilable cultural differences. Everything is ready for this situational comedy to unfold.
A political situational comedy, AlterIndiens loosens cultural barriers and, with bittersweet humour, lets in impudence and indignation. The last two productions of this young company were well-received in performances across Quebec and Canada, and this comedy is already generating a lot of interest and is expected to meet the same consensus.
