The Wendat new year begins at the end of January when the Pleiades are at their zenith and the Wendat gather to celebrate the new moon. Wendat musician and poet Andrée Levesque Sioui’s performance will explore the theme of stars, specifically the Seven Sisters, Hotihwatsira’, which have inspired songs, music, stories and poetry. She will be accompanied by talented artist friends including Wendat poet and storyteller Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui, Acadian pianist Rachel Aucoin, Wendat violist Sandrine Masse-Savard and other artists to be announced.
