Description

At the invitation of Le Marché de Noël allemand de Québec, Le Diamant presents the Glockenspiel, in partnership with Solotech.

An homage to the immense century-old bell tower that attracts crowds in the heart of Munich, the installation is visible from outside from November 25 to December 31, every day from 4 PM to 9 PM.

Thomas Payette, Creative Director at mirari, traveled to Munich last year to document the workings of this unique clock and create a faithful interpretation of the original. From Le Diamant’s windows, one can see animations derived from the photographs and videos he took during his visit, as well as stories inspired by 16th-century characters. Passersby at Place D’Youville can also hear musical pieces true to the German-speaking tradition and imagine themselves at Marienplatz, the public square that hosts the clock in Munich’s old town.
