Voix et jeux dans l’espace is a project inspired by the work of the great poet Saint-Denys Garneau (1912-1943) that has fueled the imagination of four composers from the Conservatoire de musique de Québec.
These concerts, offered during happy hour, will be an opportunity to hear four musical creations by four musicians trained at the Conservatoire under the guidance of composer Yannick Plamondon. Each of these works bears the title of the poem by Saint-Denys Garneau that served as its inspiration.
To interpret these musical works and poems, ten performers from the Conservatoire de musique and two from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec will join a string quartet from Les Violons du Roy.
To complete the program and pay homage to the Gilles-Tremblay piano, pianist Jean-Michel Dubé, also trained at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, will join two musicians from Les Violons du Roy to perform André Mathieu’s beautiful Trio with piano (1929-1968).
